Working at VTT as Principal Scientist (26 years at VTT). Background in biochemistry (University of Oulu). Did doctoral thesis from yeast lipid degradation and synthesis decades ago. During years at VTT has modified several microbes to produce wanted metabolites (also other than lipids). Recent years the focus has been to enhance overall microbial lipid production and tailor microbes fatty acid profiles. Major part of career worked with global biotech industry, especially with startups. Having 12 scientific article and 17 patents/patent applications.
