Alex Kyabarongo
Alex has a background in veterinary medicine and is currently an MSc Biodefense candidate at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University. His work focuses on infectious disease management, biological threat reduction, and biosecurity. He is particularly interested in global health security, pandemic preparedness, and bridging the gap between science and policy. Alex previously interned with the Biological Weapons Convention Implementation Support Unit (BWC-ISU) at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs in Geneva, where he supported activities on the national implementation of the BWC in Africa under the Global Partnership’s Signature Initiative to Mitigate Biological Threats in Africa.
