SPOC Biosciences

CEO & Founder

Bharath Takulapalli is the Founder and CEO of SPOC Biosciences, a deep-tech company pioneering on-chip drug discovery for the AI era. SPOC is a category-defining platform that combines high-throughput on-chip synthesis of protein or drug variant libraries, high-resolution analysis and multiplexed molecular profiling to enable biologics discovery at unprecedented scale and fidelity.Bharath envisions the SPOC platform driving a generational shift beyond 50+ years of microwell plate-based workflows toward a new paradigm of on-chip synthesis, discovery and development, serving both traditional drug development and AI-driven therapeutic design. His work sits at the intersection of systems biology, molecular biophysics, nanotechnology and engineering. He is the principal inventor behind SPOC’s core technology and has led the company from inception through the development of SPOC as a foundational life sciences platform focused on advancing therapeutic discovery. Bharath holds a PhD from Arizona State University and a BTech from IIT Madras.

From Cells to Patients: Solving the Scale Mismatch in Virtual Biology

Drug discovery often measures biology at the cell level while interventions work at the tissue, organ, or whole-patient scale. This mismatch can make accurate cell-level predictions irrelevant in the clinic. This session dives into strategies to bridge that gap: multiscale modeling that nests single-cell dynamics within organ-level simulations, spatial transcriptomics that preserve context, and surrogate models that translate cell-level outputs into clinical biomarkers. Speakers will ask: how do we ensure virtual biology reflects not just what cells do in isolation, but how biology behaves in the real complexity of patients?
