Bianca Lê

Dr. Bianca Lê is a cell biologist, science communicator, and leader in the cultivated industry and research field. She is the Head of Special Projects and External Affairs at Mission Barns, a food company based in San Francisco with a mission to cultivate meat for a more sustainable and abundant food system. Its pioneering products are made with cultivated pork and plant protein, requiring only a single animal component—a harmless starter sample from a pig—which is fed plant-based nutrients in a cultivator. A single sample could produce the same amount of meat as millions of farm animals, helping to create a world with fewer greenhouse gas emissions, reduced land and water usage, and free from animal harm—all while keeping us safe from animal-borne diseases.

At Mission Barns, Dr. Lê leads collaboration across the technology departments, regulatory team, facilitates external partnerships, and supports innovation and development of proprietary technologies.
