Francis Lister
Francis is the Head of Platform at Science Creates.
His talk will provide an overview of SC, the exciting opportunities for international partnerships and investment into Bristol, as well as its position as a gateway to the UK.
Science Creates was founded in 2015 by Deep Tech founders seeking the resources needed to grow their own startups. It is now a thriving Deep Tech ecosystem that has supported over 140 startups, and empowers scientists and engineers to build world-class ventures that can significantly improve the health of people and the planet.
Through our four key pillars-”Incubators (lab space), VC (investment), Platform (community, programmes & partnerships), and Outreach (STEM outreach & public engagement)-”we help to transform novel scientific and engineering breakthroughs into groundbreaking products.
Science Creates has a network of over 40 UK Deep Tech member companies, 13 strategic partners providing business support and a UKRI-funded Engineering Biology Accelerator Programme for very-early stage companies. Its two state-of-the-art incubators provide 45,000 sq ft of high-spec lab, office and meeting space for early-stage Deep Tech companies in Bristol, with its third incubator (30,000 sq ft) opening in early 2026 to facilitate scaleups. Science Creates' award-winning venture capital arm, SCVC, invests in category-defining Deep Tech spinouts across the UK from pre-seed to Series A.
