Christina Davis is a PhD student at Scripps Research whose work centers on discovering clinically relevant compounds through genome mining of her lab’s microbial strain collection. She first became involved in research as part of an iGEM team in 2017. She then went on to conduct synthetic biology research for the Department of Defense for four years. Beyond the lab, she is committed to fostering scientific engagement within her local community, actively contributing to initiatives like Nucleate Florida and Women in Science. Christina aspires to spend her career translating scientific discoveries into real-world therapies, ensuring they reach and benefit the patients they are designed to serve.
