Helena de Puig, Ph.D., is a synthetic biologist working at the interface of chemical biology, and protein engineering. She is a Co-Founder of ExtRNA Biosciences in Cambridge, where she leads the development of technologies for programmable next-generation proteins. Trained at MIT and the Wyss Institute at Harvard, her work enables genetic code expansion through platforms that incorporate non-canonical amino acids into proteins, unlocking new chemical functionalities for biologics, biosensors, and therapeutics. Her research aims to systematically expand the functional capabilities of biological systems by integrating synthetic chemistry with programmable translation biology.
