Zihan (Jessica) Wang is the CTO and co-founder of Coffee Elf, a climate-biotech startup upcycling spent coffee grounds into high-performance cosmetic ingredients and sustainable materials. She is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University, where her research focuses on protein engineering. Zihan has over six years of research experience in chemical engineering and synthetic biology, with publications in leading journals. As an entrepreneur, she has led Coffee Elf through accelerators, grant programs, and multiple pitch competition wins, advancing technology scaling up in supercritical CO₂ extraction and fermentation.
