Marika Ziesack is a bioengineer and entrepreneur focused on solving the infrastruture bottlenecks that hold back the bioeconomy. She holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University, where she worked on the Bionic Leaf project engineering bacteria for carbon-negative bioproduction. She co-founded Circe Bioscience, where she scaled a proprietary fermentation process from milligrams to kilograms with ARPA-E ECOSynBio funding, and led a technical team of ~15 as CTO. Now a Senior Research Scientist at the Wyss Institute, she is co-founding FluxBio, a venture to commercialize a gas transfer enhancement technology which unlocks scalable bioproduction within existing infrastructure.
