Parker Crutchfield is Professor of Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, where he serves as IRB chair and advises federal, state, and local institutions on ethics and regulatory affairs. His scholarship spans the ethics of emerging biotechnology with a focus on governance frameworks that enable ambitious innovation rather than obstruct it. His work has drawn sustained international attention across science journalism, academic media, and public policy. Through Accelerant Ethics, his governance consultancy for frontier biotechnology companies, he helps frontier biotechnologies overcome obstacles to adoption.
