Pavel Katsev is the Founder of Instrumented Science and former Director of Bioinformatics at Tempus AI, with 20+ years of experience building software that bridges enterprise and science. With a mission to move biomanufacturing from bespoke discovery toward reproducible production, he consults for biotech R&D teams and is architecting a "GitHub for biomanufacturing" platform where AI agents review pull requests to biochemical workflows, automating parts of Techno-Economic and Process Hazard Analyses. His research spans deep learning for biocatalysis prediction and metabolic engineering of bacteria for nitrogen recovery from wastewater. He holds an MS from Northwestern's Center for Synthetic Biology and a BS in Industrial Engineering.
