Vivek Gowda is Cofounder and Head of Research at Neo, an AI-native biotech reimagining gene editing through gene-specific editors designed for in-vivo therapeutics. He leads the design–test–learn loop, translating AI-generated proteins into functional nucleases optimized for precision, delivery, and durability. Vivek has been engineering biology since childhood, often spending time experimenting in his father’s lab. He conducted early work at Harvard Medical School on editing hard-to-engineer cell types before being recruited to CRISPR Tx, where he spent seven years advancing in-vivo gene editing programs toward IND and contributing to the first FDA-approved CRISPR-based therapy. At Neo, he is building the next leap in programmable biology.
