Travis Frey, Ph.D., is the Chief Technology Officer at Pivot Bio, where he leads the development and deployment of the company’s novel crop nutrition technologies and directs global research, innovation, and science teams shaping the future of agriculture inputs.A seasoned agtech executive and scientist, Frey brings decades of experience translating advanced biology into real-world solutions. His career spans senior leadership roles at Monsanto, Cibus, Calyxt, WISErg Corporation, and Mindful Care. Over his career he drove major advances in crop technology, plant health, genetic innovation and led data Ai and Machine learning software developments resulting in enhanced customer experience and operational efficiency. Frey holds a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Ph.D. in Plant Biology and Biotechnology through the University of Delaware and DuPont/Pioneer. He also completed an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds dozens of patents across seeds, plant health, packaging, and genetic technologies for crop performance.
